Augmented and Virtual Reality
I received a 2021-2022 Grant from DELTA (Digital Education and Learning Technology Applications) at NC State to explore extended reality applications in the field of textiles. The goal is to create a platform to communicate the tangible nature of fabric in a virtual space with real-time cloth simulation and educational assets.
Some questions I'm currently exploring:
How do textile engineers and designers interact with fabric in person? How can we replicate that interaction in a virtual space?
What is the digital future of a physical swatch book?
How can virtual reality inform the e-textile design process?
